  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy using an electric mixer.
  3. Beat in honey, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Fold in toasted sesame seeds gently.
  6. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop dough into balls (about 1.5 tablespoons each), roll in remaining sesame seeds, and place on the sheet spaced apart.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  10. Cool on the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
