  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 3/4 – 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium-high heat until browned (about 8–10 minutes). Drain excess grease.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Gradually add buttermilk until you have a sticky batter. Fold in cheddar cheese and cooked sausage.
  4. Pour melted butter into a greased baking dish and top with biscuit dough. Cut into squares.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown; rotate once during baking.
